$19,000 raised to help downtown Schenectady businesses, with more to come

The scene of a March 6 fatal fire that killed four people, displaced 60 others, and destroyed two multi-story buildings on Jay Street in Schenectady, New York across the street from City Hall. About $19,000 was raised this week to help businesses in downtown Schenectady, New York hurt by last month's fatal fire , an amount that will increase because of a matching pledge by Neil Golub , executive chairman of the board of Price Chopper supermarkets.
