Glen Rock man creates block-by-block guide to New York

James C. Schmitt, a Glen Rock native, says he got the idea to create his guide to Manhattan from the times he would visit the city as a young man in the 1980s. But do you know Little Fuzhou? Or Le Petit Senegal? Or Nolita? Or Kips Bay? Or the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space? "The main comment I hear from native New Yorkers is, 'Wow, I didn't know about this stuff,' " says James C. Schmitt, a Glen Rock native who has just published a different kind of tourist guide.
