Marilyn Maye, the internationally known Kansas City-based cabaret singer whose career advanced from childhood talent shows in Topeka to 76 appearances on "The Tonight Show," will conduct a free concert Thursday evening at the Topeka Performing Arts Center. Hosted by Downtown Topeka, Inc., as part of its DTI After Hours festivities, the jazz singer the late Johnny Carson once called one of this favorite guests will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Topeka Performing Arts Center, 214 S.E. 8th .
